Jahri Evans

After 11 seasons as a starting guard for the New Orleans Saints, former Bloomsburg University All American Jahri Evans will play for a different team this season. Cut by the Saints in the off season, Evans signed Thursday with the Green Bay Packers.

 

NFL Draft

The NFL draft got underway Thursday night in Philadelphia. With the first overall pick, the Cleveland Browns chose Miles Garrett, a defensive end from Texas A & M.

 

PHL Phillies

In baseball Thursday afternoon, the Phillies beat the Miami Marlins 3-2. Friday night the Phil's open a series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles starting at 10:10. Coverage on the WHLM stations begins with the pregame show at 9:35.

 

Other Games

In other games Thursday, the Atlanta Braves defeated the Mets 7-5, and it was the New York Yankees blanking the Boston Red Sox 3 to nothing.

 

NHL

In the opening game of an NHL Eastern Conference semifinal series, it was the Pittsburgh Penguins just getting by the Washington Capitals 3 to 2.

 

NBA

In the NBA playoffs, it was The Toronto Raptors downing the Milwaukee Bucks 92 – 89. Toronto clinches the series with the victory. And the San Antonio Spurs gabbed the series win as they downed the Memphis Grizzlies 103 – 96.
