Donations are being accepted now for the annual Bloomsburg YMCA yard sale, coming up on Saturday, May 10 from 6:30 AM - 1 PM. Bring your second-hand items to the Y parking lot on West 7th Street, and look for the trailer during regular operating hours. Make sure all items are in wearable, useable, and working condition. The annual Bloomsburg Fireman's Carnival starts Wednesday night, May 7, and runs through Saturday the 10th. It all gets under way with the traditional Pet and Toy parade Wednesday afternoon. The parade forms behind the Columbia County Courthouse at 5:30 and moves at 6PM. All participants will get free tickets to the carnival.

Four area high school football players will be playing this afternoon in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association's East-West All Star game. C.J. Curry and Dain Kowalski of Berwick, as well as Josh Tripp and Robert Delbo of Southern Columbia will be playing for the East team. The game will start at 2 o'clock at Franklin Regional High School near Pittsburgh.
