Saturday Easter Egg Hunts:

 

Berwick:

Berwick Christian Church at East and 5th Streets will hold an Easter Egg Hunt this morning starting at 11 AM. Kids ages 3-12 are invied to participate.

 

Bloomsburg:

The Bloomsburg American Legion post 273 is holding an Easter Egg hunt at the Bloomsburg Town Park this morning starting at 11 AM. Kids ages 2-10 are invited to join in the hunt.

 

Buckhorn:

Come out for an Easter Egg hunt at the Columbia Mall this evening starting at 6 PM - sponsored by the Bloomsburg & Catawissa UMC Cluster. The hunt will take place in the Community Room at the Sears end of the mall.

 

Danville:

Goodwill Hose Company will hold an Easter Egg hunt this morning at Danville Memorial Park starting at 10 AM.

 

Elysburg:

Come to Knoebel's this afternoon for an Easter Egg hunt at 1 PM in the Grove parking lot. The Easter Bunny will make an appearance. The hunt is open to kids 10 and younger.

 

Espy:

The Espy Fire Company Easter Egg hunt will be held this morning at the Fire Hall starting at 9 AM.

 

Madison Township:

Katy's Church is holding their second annual Victorian egg hunt this afternoon starting at 2 PM. The hunt is open to kids 12 and under, with a special area just for kids under 4. You will need to bring an empty basket  or bag. For more information call 570-764-2412. The church is on the corner of Katy's Church and Wolf Hollow Roads in Madison township.

 

Mount Pleasant Township:

Kids ages 10 and under are invited tothe Mount Pleasant Community Easter Egg hunt this afternoon,  being held at the Center on Millertown road at 2 PM.

 

Nescopeck:

Nescopeck Volunter Fire Companys' Easter Egg hunt will be held this afternoon at the baseball diamond starting at 2 PM. Kids 10 and under from the community are invited to attend. 

 

Paxinos:

Ash Grove UMC will hold a community Easter Egg hunt this afternoon starting at 2 PM. There will be live music by Simple Faith. Kids 2-10 are invited to join the hunt.

 
 
What's Happening?

Come spend A Day With Stuie in Berwick this afternoon. A real Berwick-built Stuart tank will be on display at 3rd and Oak Street and Reliance Fire Company starting at 2 PM, along with historical displays, memorabilia, food, live entertainment, and the official groundbreaking for the Stuart memorial. The event marks the 70th anniversary of the last Berwick Stuart tank produced. All active military personnel and Veterans are invited to attend.

 

Roaring Creek Valley UMC in Catawissa is holding a breakfast for a donation this morning from 7 - 9:30 AM. Proceeds will go to suppourt the soup kitchen at Wesley UMC in Bloomsburg, and Camp Lavigne. The church is on Orchard Drive in Catawissa.

 

The Berwick Anti-Drug Alliance will hold a community forum this Monday at the McBride Memorial Library on Market Street in Berwick. The topic will be "Addictions, recovery, and spirituality," with a panel featuring Rev. John Baumgartner of Reformers Unanimus, Rev. Aaron Hastie, and Lt. Kevin Polito of the Berwick Salvation Army. Everyone is invited. The talk starts at 6 PM.

 

The Penn State Master Gardeners of Columbia County contiue their monthly series of free gardening classes at the McBride Memorial Library on Tuesday the 22nd. This month the topic will be Rain Gardens and Rain Barrels. The program runs from 6 - 7:30 PM. Call to reserve your seat at 570-752-2241. The library is at 500 Market Street in Berwick. 

 

It's time to register for the 2014 First Columbia Teen Star musical competition, coming up on June 1 in the Haas center, Bloomsburg University. Two top winners will be selected this year - one vocalist and one instrumentalist. First place in both wins $1,500. It's open to any high school student who attends school in Columbia County. The Bloomsburg Rotary Club is holding their 21st annual Golf For Kids charity scramble at 9AM Saturday, May 3rd at the Links at Hemlock Creek. $80 entry fee per golfer includes a round of golf, refreshments, and steak! The Kidsburg Rebuilding project is looking for special help this week with prepatory and foundation work for the Big Build coming up on April 30th. The 36th annual Renaissance Jamboree in Downtown Bloomsburg us coming up on Saturday the 26th from 10 AM - 5 PM, rain or shine. MetroCast Communications will host their third Giving Back 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, May 3 starting at 9AM at the Summerhill Road Fire Company in Berwick. Funds raised from the event this year will go to local organizations focusing on drug abuse prevention. Registration will be open the morning of the run from 7:30 - 8:45. HS Baseball

The Central Columbia High School baseball field will be named Don Engle Memorial Field this morning prior to the start of a baseball tournament that involves Central Columbia, Bloomsburg, Wyalusing and Mifflinburg. Engle, who died in January, won more than 500 games and the 1991 state championship in his 29 years as the Blue Jays head coach. The dedication ceremony will begin at 9:30 AM.

 

Phillies Baseball

The Phils continure their weekend series on the road in Colorado this evening. First pitch will be at 8:10 PM - we'll be on the air with the pregame show at 7:35.
