On Tuesday, April 8th, just a little over two months after the fire that closed the Moose Exchange, workers from Power Component Systems of Harrisburg will start a complete clean-up, the first step towards the reconstruction and eventual reopening, PPL connected the temporary electrical service to the building two weeks ago, after Selsyn Electrical installed a new meter base and interior breaker box last week.
No Sandusky Review
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court justices said they will not review Jerry Sandusky's child molestation conviction. Sandusky said his lawyers were rushed too quickly to trial and didn't have enough time to prepare the case. Sandusky is serving a 30 to 60 year prison sentence for sexual abouse of 10 boys.
There was a drug bust in Fernville on Wednesday, it happened at 122 Ferncliff Road. The Press Enterprise reports the bust was led by a SWAT team and three were arrested. One of those arrrested was 24 year old Brianne N. Young of Mifflin Township. The report says she was carrying about 420 bags of heroin in her purse.
If you have old and unused prescription drugs hanging around the medicine cabinet there is a safe way to dispose of them. The Bloomsburg and Berwick police departments have an area where the drugs can be dropped off according to Columbia County District Attorney Tom Leipold. The two drop off boxes were obtained through a grant from a district attorney's association.
Leaders of both parties in the Pennsylvania State House have banned most types of cash gifts after recent allegations that some lawmakers accepted cash from an informant in a criminal investigation. The reports which were in the Philadelphis Inquirer said members accepted payments from a lobbyist who was wearing a wire. The attorney general says there's probably not enough there to file charges.
Gas Going Up?
Gas prices are expected to rise this spring, but they're already higher than most drivers are willing to pay but they're not willing to do much about it. A new Triple A survey syas that once prices reach the three dollar and fifty cent range people say they're too high, but most people are getting used to the higher prices are won't make drastic changes in their driving habits. Triple A says prices could go up as much as 20 cents a gallon soon.
Pa. Revenue Down
March and April are usually the biggest revenue collection months for the state, but Pennsylvania collected 20 million dollars less than it estimated it would in March. That includes an extra 80 million dollars in profits the Liquor Control Board transferred to the general fund. The state hadn't expected the LCB to transfer the money that soon. So, Revenue Secretary Dan Meuser says the state came in about 100 million below estimates for March alone.

The Phillies lost to the Texas Rangers 4-3 on Wednesday night. The Phil's are off on Thursday and start a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Friday.
The bloomsburg University baseball team split a double header with West Chester on Wednesday winning the first game 2-1 and losing the second game 1-0. On Friday the Huskies play a doubleheader at Millersville.
