Roaring Creek Valley UMC (Formerly Mt. Zion) is offering breakfast for a donation this morning from 7 - 9:30 AM. Proceeds will benefit Agape and Haven Ministry. The church is at 6 Orchard Drive in Catawissa.

 

The Greater Shenandoah Area Historical Society will hold a Chinese auction this afternoon at the history center at 201 S. Main St. Doors open at noon - the auction starts at 1:30 PM. Refreshments will be available. For more information, call 570-462-3626.

 

Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ is hosting an all-you-can-eat homestyle chicken and waffle dinner today from 1 - 6 PM. Cost for adults is $10, $5 for children 6-12, and free for kids under 6 years old. Take-out is available. The church is at #1 West Diehl Road in Danville, near the Washingtonville plant.

 

A memorial service For area Auctioneer Kirk Williams will be held today at 6 PM. Family will recieve friends starting at 3 PM at the auction house on Route 42 in Eyers Grove.

St Joseph Church in Berwick is holding an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner this Sunday from 11:30 AM - 2 PM. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under. Tickets will be available at the door, and take-out will be available. The church Hall is at 721 Monroe Street in Berwick.

BU Women

The Huskies proved their mettle in Saturday night's victory over #9 Glennville State in the NCAA Atlantic Regionals. Bloomsburg led from the outset in a game that ended 91-78. You can hear the details in the WHLM Husky Post-Game Report with Larry White:

 

 

Bloomsburg moves on to face fellow PSAC members Edinboro in the Atlanic Regional championship game Monday night. Tip-off is at 7 PM, our coverage on the WHLM stations starts with the Pregame at 6:40.

 

HS Basketball

There were two District 4 high school basketball teams still in the state playoff quarterfinal games Friday night at Hazleton Area High School. In the first game the Saint John Neumann boys team beats New Hope Academy 78-68 in a Class A quarterfinal. In a girls AA game Friday night Mount Carmel fell to Dunmore 58-21.

 

Henry Hynoski

According to ESPN's Adam Shefter, former Southern Columbia star Henry Hynoski has agreed to return to the New York Giants on a one year deal worth one million dollars. As a free agent, Hynoski had visited the Detroit Lions but chose to come back to New York where he has played for the first three seasons of his NFL career.
