Flood Watch Cancled

The National Weather Service in State College has canceled a flood watch it had posted for Columbia and Montour County. Originally... The NWS had foretasted the Susquehanna to crest at 13 feet... three feet below the “action” stage. But now the river is forecast to crest at 9.6 feet at 7 O'clock Monday evening. Meantime... the start of the week should find high temperatures in the mid 40's... with overnight lows in the upper 20's.                     




The Women of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg will be serving up some soup in soupport of Kidsburg today. Stop by the church on market street following the 10:30 AM worship service to sample a variety of soups for just $1 each. There will also be sandwiches for just $2.50. Proceeds will benefit the re-building of Kidsburg. 


Team Partylite Friends for Freedom will host a Basket & Purse Bingo today at the Bloomsburg Fire Hall. Proceeds from the games will benefit Bloomsburg Relay for Life. Doors open at 12:30 pm. Games start at 2pm. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Call 570-441-9069 for tickets and more information.


The Bloomsburg Elks Club is sponsoring a Kid’s Basketball Hoop Shoot at the Bloomsburg YMCA this afternoon at 12:30 PM. The shoot is free and open to all Boys and Girls ages 8 through 13. Winners from today's shoot can advance to the district and state events. For more information call 570-764-6772.


It's time to sign up for Little League in 2014! Sign ups and registration for Baseball and Softball will be held at the Moose Exchange on Tuesday the 14th from 5 - 8 PM. You can sign up online at - though payment must be made in person on Tuesday. The Moose Exchange Arts and Cultural Center is on Main Street in downtown Bloomsburg.


It's the return of the Book Buddies at the Bloomsburg Public Library on Tuesday night. Bring your kids starting at 6:30 PM to practice their read-aloud skills to Bella, Chloe, and Reilly - therapy dogs who love to listen. Bring a favorite book or pick one from the Library collection.

Boys HS Basketball 

In boys basketball Friday night, Central Columbia beat Southern Columbia 51-44. Our next High School Hoops broadcast will be Tuesday night, when the Berwick boys host Coughlin. Coverage starts with the pregame show after the 7 PM news.


BU Women's Basketball

In women's college basketball Saturday afternoon, Bloomsburg University defeated Philadelphia University at the Nelson Field House 85-82. The Huskies' Kat Noack made her 1000th career point during the game. You can hear the details with Larry White in the WHLM Husky Post-Game Report:
