Wesley United Methodist Church on Market Street in Bloomsburg will host a blood drive this Wednesday in honor of Dan Gensemer. The drive will run from 1 - 6 PM in the church gymnasium.
The Christmas season officially comes to a close at the Bloomsburg Public Librairy on Thursday night with the annual Twelfth Night program of stories, songs, and crafts. Your good listeners age three and up are invited to drop by at 6:30 PM to see the tree and Grand Castle illuminated for the last time. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The librairy is on Market Street in Bloomsburg.
It's time to sign up for Little League in 2014! Sign ups and registration for Baseball and Softball will be held at the Moose Exchange on Saturday the 11th from 9 AM - Noon, and on Tuesday the 14th from 5 - 8 PM. In college basketball Friday afternoon, the Huskies of BU won both their games versus Clarion in their first action of the new year. The Women's final was 72-52. The Men's final was 61-53.
On Saturday, the Huskies split a pair of games against new Conference members Pitt-Johnstown. The Women won convincingly, 90-64. The Men's game was delayed just before halftime due to a medical emergency in the stands. Both teams came back strong, fighting it out to a 71-69 win for Pitt-Johnstown.
The Huskies will be on the road for their next games, when they will travel to IUP on Wednesday night.
In High School Hoops this weekend, the boys from Central Columbia faced arch-rivals Bloomsburg in a Saturday night game. Central came out on top 36-22.
