Visit Downtown Bloomsburg and Santa Claus at Santa's Cottage through this Sunday. Santa's Cottage is located on the corner of Main Street and Lightstreet at the Bloomsburg Diner and will be open today and Sunday 2 til 4pm.


Wesley United Methodist Church on Market Street in Bloomsburg is holding a christmas cookie sale today starting at 9 am featuring Welsh cookies and other holiday favorites. Proceeds will benefit the United Methodist Women's mission projects.


Join your friends at the Moose Exchange in Downtown Bloomsburg for the last Starving Artists Breakfast of the season this morning from 9 am - 1 pm. They'll feature their omlettes, quiche, hash browns, and other favorites as well as holiday pizelles for the Christmas weekend.


The Bloomsburg School of Dance presents The Nutcracker this afternoon at 2 pm in the Haas Auditorium on the campus of Bloomsburg University. Tickets can be ordered online at or bought at the door.


Catawissa First United Methodist Church will be holding a Christmas bake sale today, from 8:30 am til Noon. Cookies are just $5 a pound. Other baked good will be for sale, too. Entrance will be at the rear of the church, at 228 South Street in Catawissa.


Town Hill United Methodist Church will present their annual Christmas Cantata on Sunday at 9 am. Join the Congregation after the service for a coverd dish brunch. The Church is at 417 Town Hill Road in Shickshinny.


Ebenezer Faith Bible Church invites you to their annual Christmas program on Sunday at 6 pm. The children and teens will present "Bethlehem's Big Day". Light refreshments will follow the show. The church is on Route 93 near Orangeville.


Katys Church will be holding an old-fashioned candlelight Christmas Service (weather permitting) on Sunday evening at 7 pm.  Refreshments will be served after the service. Regular Sunday Service is at 12:30 pm. The historic 1869 church on Katy's Church Road will be open all day.


Emmanuel Dutch Hill Bible Church will present their annual Christmas Musical on Sunday at 10AM. An offering will be taken up to beneft AGAPE.


Bring your friends, family, chairs, and a warm blanket this Monday night and enjoy an evening at the Manger In The Park. This live depiction of the Nativity story includes live animals, and there will be free cocoa and cookies for everyone. It starts at 6:30 PM, Monday the 23rd in the Bloomsburg Town Park.

Sweet Valley Church of Christ will present "Fear Not!" a Christmas Eve musical performed by the SVCC Junior Choir on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. The church is at 5439 Main Road in Sweet Valley.


MC Federal Credit Union in Bloomsburg is hosting a holiday candle fundraiser this season to benefit the re-building of Kidsburg in the Bloomsburg Town Park. The fundraiser will continue into the spring.


The Kozy Kids winter wear donation drive is under way. Donations of hats, gloves and scarves will be distributed to children in our local commuinity this winter. Donation boxes can be found at AGAPE, New Covenant Christian Church, the Berwick United Way, the Hope Center, First Columbia Bank in the Buckhorn Wal-Mart, and at My Town in the Columbia Mall.


The Bloomsburg Rotary is selling their 2014 Lucky Lottery calendars. They're just $20 each. You can grab them in Downtown Bloomsburg at Al's Men's Shop, Towne Camera, First Columbia Bank, Oppenheimer Funds, and at the WHLM Main Street Studio. Proceeds benefit local and worldwide Rotary projects.


The Moose Exchange in downtown Bloomsburg is looking for your suppourt this holiday season. The non-profit arts and cultural center is running a fund-raising drive for maintainace and improvements through the end of the year. BU Football

In 1997, Bloomsburg University running back Irv Sigler received the Harlon Hill trophy which goes to the top Division II player in the country. Friday night another Bloomsburg running back was presented that award. Senior Franklyn Quiteh is the second Husky to be given the top honor in DII football.


HS Basketball

Among Friday night's boys basketball games, Central Columbia was at Hughesville in a Heartland Conference Division II match up. The Blue Jays beat Hughesville in that game 65-57.


Monday night, the Southern Columbia girls will be on the road at Danville. Coverage on the WHLM stations starts at 7 PM.


BU Basketball

The Huskies Men's and Women's basketball teams played their final games before the holiday break Saturday afternoon when they hosted Gannon at the Nelson Field House. The Women battled it out but came out on the short end, losing 65-63. The Men's team took Gannon to overtime and nabbed the Huskies' first ever win against the Golden Knights, 67-64 in overtime. The Huskies' first game of 2014 will be Friday, January 3rd, when they will host Clarion.
