The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Susquehanna Valley... and all of central and eastern Pennsylvania. It's all due to a complex storm system stretching from the Southern Plains to the Great Lakes. We could see anywhere from five to eight inches of snow across the region... bringing with it sloppy driving conditions... and a secondary blast of cold air. The Warning runs from 5 O'clock this morning through 4 O'clock Sunday morning.
Cancellations & Postponments:
* Luzerne County Community College will be closed on Saturday.
* Santa will not be at his cottage in Downtown Bloomsburg Saturday but will be there on Sunday between 2 pm and 4 pm.
* Saturday Night's High School Boys' Basketball game between Central Columbia and Bloomsburg has been postponed to a date yet to be determined.
* Saturday Night's High School Girls' Basketball game between Bloomsburg and Vo-Tech has ben postponed to a date yet to be determined.
* St Mary's in Berwick's Christmas Play and Party has been re-scheduled from Sunday the 15th to Epiphanny Sunday, January 5th at 11 am.
*The Christmas Meal at United Church of Christ in Numedia has been postponed to Dec 22nd. Sunday service will be at 10 am.
* The Saturday morning Starving Artists Breakfast at the Moose Exchange Cultural Center in Bloomsburg has been cancelled this week.
* The Florence Thompson plaque dedication at the Bloomsburg Recycling Center has been postponed from Saturday to a date to be determined.
Visit Downtown Bloomsburg and Santa Claus at Santa's Cottage through December 22nd. Santa's Cottage is located on the corner of Main Street and Lightstreet at the Bloomsburg Diner and will be open on Thursdays and Fridays 6 til 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays 2 til 4pm.

Christ United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Catawissa is holding a winter clothing give-away this morning from 8 am - Noon. There will be a special Activity Center for kids during the give-away. Christ United is on Church Street in Catawissa.
The loose ties model railroad club will be having its public display at the Columbia Mall this weekend. Operating times today are 11 am -5 pm and 11 am - 4 pm on Sunday. There will be a drawing for two free train sets during the holiday season, open to children 14 years old and younger. The winner does not need to be present to win.

BU Library Archivist Robert Dunkelberger will be giving a presentation on the life of BU Professor and Wild Animal Trainer George Keller on Sunday afternoon, in the First Presbyterian Fellowship Hall at the church on Market Street in Bloomsburg. The talk wich runs from 2pm - 3:30pm will include an overview of Keller's life and exploits as well as rare film never before seen in public.
The 4th annual free Christmas Dinner at the Caldwell Consistory will be held this Sunday starting at 12:30 pm. There will be music and children's activities followed by dinner. The Consistory is on Market Square in Bloomsburg.

The Kozy Kids winter wear donation drive is under way. Donations of hats, gloves and scarves will be distributed to children in our local commuinity this winter. Donation boxes can be found at AGAPE, New Covenant Christian Church, the Berwick United Way, the Hope Center, First Columbia Bank in the Buckhorn Wal-Mart, and at My Town in the Columbia Mall.
MC Federal Credit Union in Bloomsburg is hosting a holiday candle fundraiser this season to benefit the re-building of Kidsburg in the Bloomsburg Town Park. The fundraiser will continue into the spring.

Bloomsburg University's senior defensive end Larry Webster has been named a finalist for the Cliff Harris award which goes to the small college defensive player of the year.
