You can get breakfast for a donation at Roaring Creek Valley U. M. Church - Formerly the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at 6 Orchard Drive Catawissa, on Saturday November 16, 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Bacon, Eggs, Toast, French Toast, Ham, Sausage, Pancakes, Coffee, and Juice. Donations will go to the Lori Lowery for Heart Transplant fund.

 

Black Creek UMC is sponsoring a "Chicken & Waffle Dinner, Saturday, November 16, from 3:00pm-7:00pm, Adults: $10.00 per person, Children: 6-10  $5.00

Children: 5 & Under: Free. The church is located at 158 Golf Course Road, Sugarloaf.

 

Animal Resource Center is having their 9th annual banquet and auction on Saturday, November 16th, at Washies Fire Hall in Danville. Doors open at 5 pm, dinner at 6, tickets 30 dollars at the door and the proceeds go to ARC, the animal Resource Center.

 

McBride Memorial Library will highlight local wines from the Central Susquehanna Valley Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the library. There will be beer too, plus food prepared by some of Berwick’s finest cooks, free photo booth, music, and games, raffle baskets, a silent auction with over 30 items and a door prize. The money raised with this event will be used to pay the operating expenses of the library located at 500 Market Street, Berwick.

The Children's Museum invites your kids to turkey-day on Saturday, November 16th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Your kids can meet live turkeys and learn about them. The Children's Museum is located on 7th Street in Bloomsburg.

Southern Soccer
The Southern Columbia girls' soccer team lost their bid for the Class A state championship in Hershey Friday evening. They were defeated by defending champions Greensburg Central Catholic. Southern Columbia had a 1-0 lead going into halftime, But Greensburg came back in the second half to make the final 2-1 in Greensburg's favor.

Danville Football
In Friday night High School Football playoff action on News Radio 930 Danville hosted Loyalsock.  Loysock was leading 21-7 going into halftime.  Danville came back to win the very close game 28-21.  With their win they will host Troy next Friday night.

 

Berwick Football

The Bulldogs continue their post-season run as they defeated Abington Heights Saturday afternoon. The final was Berwick 35, Abington 28.

 

Southern Football

Southern Columbia bolstered their playoff run as they beat South Williamsport on Saturday night by a score of 47-21.

 

BU Football

In Huskies college ball Saturday afternoon, Bloomsburg University defeated Slippery Rock 35-28 in front of a wild crowd as BU claimed the PSAC Championship title for the first time since 1985. The winning touchdown came from MVP Franklyn Quiteh with 27 seconds to go in the game. The NCAA will announce the teams in this year's Division II playoffs on Sunday afternoon.

 

BU Basketball

The Huskies Men's team beat Lincoln University Saturday night in a game at the Nelson Field House. The Final score was 89-79 in double-overtime. In Huskies Women's basketball BU beat Wilmington 105-69.
