What's Happening Saturday, November 2, 2013


St Matthew Lutheran Church will host the 4th annual fair-trade-fair 9AM til 1PM today. Proceeds will benefit the Womens Center. The church is located north of the fountain on Market Street in Bloomsburg.

St Peters at Grovania is having a bazaar on Saturday November 2nd at 9AM. There will be crafts, baked good, home made ice creme, barbeque and soup.

Holy Family Convent will be holding its annual spaghetti dinner on Saturday, November 2nd, from 4PM to 7PM. Tickets at the door will be $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for children, with take-out orders available. Children 6 and under eat free. There will be craft items and homemade baked goods for sale, as well as a rummage sale. The convent is located at 1 Montour Street in Danville. Emannuel Dutch Hill Bible Church at 592 Dutch Hill Road, Bloomsburg is having a Rediscover Church Homecoming on Sunday, November 3rd at 10AM. You are invited to the 120th birthday celebration featuring a renovated and expanded sanctuary. There will be a special service exploring the history of the church. Stay for light refreshments afterward and meet new friends!

The Mount Carmel Lions' all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner is Sunday, November 3rd, 11:30 - 2:00PM. Price: $7.00 at the Mount Carmel Elks, North Oak Street, Mount Carmel. Bring a container - take-outs will be available.

BU / Shippensburg Football

Harlon Hill trophy winning quarterback Zach Zulli threw five touchdown passes and Shippensburg's defense held Franklyn Quiteh to just 82 yards rushing. That, as the Red Raiders handed the Huskies their first defeat of the season 34-18 Thursday night at Danny Hale Field in Redman Stadium. The next game for the Huskies will be Saturday November 9th at West Chester.

 

High School Football

The high school football regular season ended Friday night with Bloomsburg renewing its rivalry with Central Columbia in our game of the week. The teams were at each others throats as Bloomsburg came out on top with a 29-26 win.

 

More Football

Two area teams, Berwick and Southern Columbia, completed unbeaten regular seasons Friday night. Berwick soundly defeated Hazleton Area 43-7. Southern Columbia beat Warrior Run 47-13.

 

Soccer

In high school soccer... the District 4 Class A boys final between Bloomsburg and Wellsboro was postponed. The teams will play tonight at 7 O'clock in Williamsport.

 

BU Men's Basketball

In our premiere broadcast of college basketball for the 2013-14 season, the Huskies faced Binghamton in an exhibition match. The close game ended in a 48-47 Binghamton win. You can hear all the details with Jim Doyle in the WHLM Husky Post Game Report:
