What's Happening Saturday September 14, 2013


The Bloomsburg Memorial Elementary School PTO is hosting the annual Mum and bake sale at the school today  from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

 

The Millville Community Payers present “A Nice Family Gathering” today at Millville High School.

 

The Columbia Montour Boy Scout Council will host a Scout Shop Open House today  from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and a Tiger Cub Fun Day from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.  The fun day is for Tiger Cubs and boys interested in becoming Tiger Cubs.

 

The Saturday trains program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church will be open today as usual in Danville.  At the Columbia Mall the Loose Ties Model Railroad Club will open their huge display of trains today and tomorrow, and the Wheelchair Engineers program will be open today.

 

The Bloomsburg “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” is being held in Bloomsburg Town Park today.  Registration is at 10:00 AM and the walk and program starts at 11:00 AM.

 

The 3rd Annual National Anti-Heroin Rally Day is today.  There are events happening at the Berwick Elks to celebrate recovery and rally against addiction from 1:00 to 5:00 PM today.

 

Catawissa First United Methodist church will host a block party today from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  There will be live entertainment featuring guitarist Woody Wolfe along with free food, games, drawings, and prizes.

 

The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble is hosting community auditions for their annual holiday show today at 3:00 and 4:00 PM.  Call the theatre for more information.

 

Grace Lutheran Church in Berwick is serving up a spaghetti dinner today from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

 

The Central PA Vintage Iron Club presents their 9th annual Vintage Iron Fall Festival this weekend at the Union County West End Fairgrounds.

 

The Milton Harvest Festivals is happening through next weekend.

 

The Rotary Club of Lycoming County present the 8th annual Balloonfest and Air Show at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds today.

 

The McClure Bean Soup Festival will wrap up today.  Bean soup is served starting at Noon and concessions open at 4:00 PM.

 

The Roaring Creek Valley Grange in Numidia is hosting a food basket bingo today.  Doors open at 11:30 and bingo starts at 1:00 PM.

 

Shiloh United Church of Christ in Danville will hold an evening of line dancing with Denny Starr tomorrow from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.  Light refreshments will be served.

 

New Covenant Christian Church of Berwick will host NC7 Sunday nights starting tomorrow at 7:00 PM.  The church is located on West 11th Street in Berwick.

 

WHLM Sports

 

In the WHLM Game of the Week Southern Columbia was at Mount Carmel Friday night.  Southern took control from the start of the game to end in a 45-7 victory.

 

In other local High School Football action Bloomsburg beat Warrior Run 34-7, and Shamokin fell Danville 28-7

 

Bloomsburg University beat Edinboro on the road Saturday afternoon. The final was 47-35, Huskies.

 

In a Saturday afternoon game heard on Classic Rock 103.5, Berwick beat Dallas handily on the road 37-7.

 

In other High School action Saturday, the Rams of Vo-Tech fell to South Williamsport 41-12.
