Downtown Danville presents the annual fall arts and crafts festival today from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. More than 100 crafters will fill Mill Street, and there will be free parking and shuttle service.
Zombies are taking over Berwick today as part of the Berwick Area United Way and American Red Cross Preparedness Day. There’s a Zombie 5K Run and vendors set up with emergency preparedness information at Berwick Test Track Park. It’s happening from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
The 1st Annual Holly Mcanall Memorial Walk for the Heart is today in Bloomsburg Town Park. Registration starts at 9:00 AM and the walk starts at 10:00 AM. It’s a 2-mile walk benefiting Geisinger’s Heart and Vascular Institute Women’s Heart and Vascular Health Fund.
The Children’s Museum in Bloomsburg invites you to Grandparents Day today from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Grandparents and kids can enjoy old-fashioned games and toys, special make and take crafts, story time, and a sing along. Admission is free for grandparents.
The Free Saturday Trains program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church in Danville will be open as usual today, and the Wheelchair Engineers train program at the Columbia Mall will be open as well.
The Orangeville Volunteer Fire Company will host their 3rd annual fall car show today from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be a craft and vendor show going on as well.
There’s a spaghetti dinner happening at the Jerseytown Community Center to benefit a local man battling multiple sclerosis this afternoon from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Money raised will go toward making his home handicap accessible.
The 5th annual Silltwater Poetry Festival is happening today at the Municipal Park in Stillwater from 3:00 to 9:00 PM, rain or shine. Admission is free. There will be open mic sessions, acoustic music and a magnetic poetry contest.
St. John’s Community Church of Catawissa is having music in the park tomorrow at 1:00 PM in Cara Park. The Evansville Gang will play. In case of rain the concert will be at the church on the corner of 3rd and Pine Streets in Catawissa.
The Benton British Car Club will meet tomorrow at 3:00 PM at Strevigs Family Restaurant located on Route 487 in Benton.
Wesley United Methodist Church invites you to their front steps for Sundaes tomorrow from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. They’ll have a clown and live music. The church is located on Market Street in Bloomsburg.
After winning their season opener on the road, the Danville High School football team defeated Loyalsock in its home opener Friday night. The final was 23-21. In Bulldogs action Berwick trounced Pottsville 56-7.
In other action Friday, Bloomsburg beat Hughesville 35-21, Southern Columbia beat Montgomery 58-6, Central Columbia were shut out by Montoursville 41-0, and Columbia Montour Vo-Tech were denied by Nanticoke 48-0. Check out the WHLM High School Football Scoreboard for more area scores.
The Bloomsburg University football team opened the season at home against Stonehill College of Massachusetts Saturday afternoon, in the first time since 1992 that Danny Hale has not been not theHuskies' head coach.
