The Bloomsburg Veterinary Hospital invites you to the third annual “Cause for Paws” fundraiser today from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Bring your kids and pets for an afternoon of fun festive events.
The local historical and genealogical societies will host a genealogy fair from 2:00 to 5:00 PM today at the Caldwell Consistory in Bloomsburg.
The Hetlerville United Methodist Church will hold their annual fall hymn sing tonight at 7:00 PM. Light refreshments will follow.
WHLM Sports
High School Football
Danville and Bloomsburg, two teams with a combined record of 13-3, renewed their rivalry at Panther Stadium Friday night in our high school football game of the week. The back-and-forth game saw Bloomsburg take the early lead and hold on to it for a 14-12 win.
Berwick / Coughlin
Berwick extended their winning streak to five in a row after beating Coughlin Friday night. The final was 34-7 Bulldogs.
Other HS Football
In other action, unbeaten Southern Columbia remains so with a 15-7 win against Central Columbia, and Columbia Montour Vo Tech fell to North Penn 42-0.
BU Football
It was a matchup of unbeaten teams Saturday afternoon as the Huskies of Bloomsburg University traveled to Shippensburg. Ship struck early to take a 14-0 lead in the first minutes of the game. The Huskies once again made an amazing rally down 35-7 at half to tie the game 42-42. But Shippensburg had one more touchdown to make with four seconds left making the final score 49-42 in favor of Shippensburg.
