The Columbia Mall is hosting a blood drive today from Noon to 5:00 pm.
The Susquehanna Revival Center will host a free spaghetti dinner today from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. The center is located on Old Berwick Road in Bloomsburg near the American Legion.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of the Central Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania invites you to their annual dinner with guest speaker Bob Buehenr former District Attorney of Montour County. Doors open at 5:00 PM today at the Danville Days Inn. The meal is free of charge, and tickets are available at the door on a first come first serve basis.
The free Saturday trains program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church is open as usual today…the church is located at the corner of Pine and East Market Streets in Danville.
The Loose Ties Model Railroad Society will open their huge display of more than 60 trains and 10,00 feet of track at the Columbia Mall this weekend. The free display will be open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm today, and noon to 4:00 pm tomorrow.
The Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble presents the comedy Murder At The Howard Johnson’s this weekend. Show times are tonight at 7:30 and tomorrow afternoon at 3:00. The show runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and Sunday afternoons through March 25th.
Christ the King Roman Catholic Church in Benton presents Lift Your Spirits Performing Arts with “Born For This,” a modern rendition of the Passion of Christ, tomorrow night at 6:00. Tickets are $5.00. The church is located on Mendenhall Lane in Benton.
Maria Assunta on Monroe Street in Berwick will host a spaghetti dinner on Monday to benefit the McBride Memorial Library. Serving is from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and cost is $7.00.
The Bloomsburg Public Library will host Come Knit With Me on Monday at 6:00 pm. The group is for novice and experienced knitters and crocheters.
And, the Wheel Chair Engineers train program at the Columbia Mall will be open Monday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
BU Women's Basketball
The Bloomsburg University Women's basketball team went to the NCAA playoff for the first time in more than a decade Friday night. Their re-match against IUP was hard-fought but the Huskies ultimately came just short; 77-76 was the IUP final. BU ends their season with a 26 and 6 record.
High School Basketball
Several area high school basketball teams enter the state playoffs this weekend. At Shamokin Friday night, the Danville boys extended their winning streak to 23 games as they beat Scranton Prep 61-50. They go on in the playoffs to face Holy Ghost Prep on Tuesday night. Saturday night at 6:30, the Southern Columbia boys play Holy Cross at Marywood University in Scranton.
