What's Happening Sunday January 15, 2012


The Loose Ties Model Railroad Club will open up their huge display of trains at the Columbia Mall today noon to 4:00 pm.  The display features more than 60 trains and 10,00 feet of track.

 

The Bloomsburg University Huskies for the Community hope you’ll join them today at the wrestling match against Pitt at no charge.

 

The Bloomsburg Fire Department invites you to their monthly all-you-can eat breakfast buffet today from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

 

The Potts Grove Fire Company is also serving up their monthly all-you-can eat breakfast buffet today from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The fire hall is located off Route 6642 between Danville and Milton.

 

The Maria Assunta Society on Monroe Street in Berwick will host a spaghetti benefit dinner for Joe “Buzz” Difebo this afternoon from noon to 3:00 pm.  There will also be a Chinese auction, bake sale, and 50/50.

 

Bloomsburg High School is the place for bingo today.  It’s a Pampered Chef, Twenty-One, and Lia Sophia bingo.  Tickets are $20.00 for twenty games, and doors open at noon.  Proceeds benefit two Camp Victory and Special Olympic families in our area.

 

From the WHLM Future File, the first ever Berwick Area YMCA Indoor triathlon is next weekend.  Today is the last day to register.

 

The Friends of the Bloomsburg Public Library book sale is happening next Thursday through Monday at the library.

 

The Bloomsburg YMCA has postponed their grand opening of the brand new ice skating rink to next Saturday from noon to 4:00 pm.

 

And, the Columbia County United Way Trash to Treasure Sale is happening next Saturday from 9:00 am to noon at Bloomsburg University.  Get your early bird tickets now to get in at 8:00 am by contacting the Columbia County United way.

 

Bloomsburg University Basketball

The Huskies were back at the Nelson Field House on Saturday in their first home stand since December for a pair of games against the Wolves of Cheyney University. Both BU teams dominated in their games. The Women won 77-50. The Men won 83-61. You can hear the details from the day's games with Jim Doyle in the WHLM Husky Post Game Report:
