Crash Claims Life

One person is dead following a one car crash Sunday night in the 500 block of Millville Road, just inside the Bloomsburg Town line. The accident knocked out power to the immediate neighborhood and shutdown Millville Road for several hours. Bloomsburg police tell us a black car was southbound at an apparent high rate of speed when the unidentified driver lost control... plowed into a parked PT Cruiser..... hit a PPL utility poll and came to rest on it's roof. A fire broke out... and the driver extricated from the wreck. The Columbia County Coroner was called to the scene. Life Flight also responded, but they were not needed. An accident reconstruction team kept Millville Road shut down for several hours as they tried to figure out what happened. The name of the driver is expected to be released overnight by police once family members are notified. More on the WHLM Morning Buzz starting at 6 AM Monday.
