The first round of postseason play in High School Football kicked off Friday night. On Newsradio 930 Bloomsburg defeated Mifflinburg 48-20. On Classic Rock 103.5 The Bulldogs of Berwick beat Coughlin on the strength of a missed extra point 29-28. In other local team action Danville fell to Towanda 35-20, Southern Columbia beat Sayre 55-7, and Columbia Montour Vo-Tech lost to Milton 49-13.
Bloomsburg University closed out the 2011 regular football season with a 34-3 win at home against Lock Haven. The Huskies now await the announcement of postseason play to be made Sunday afternoon.
In Huskies basketball Saturday, the BU Women's team beat Seton-Hill 71-60. They play Sunday afternoon in Shepherdstown, West Virginia against Bowie State in our first basketball broadcast of the season.
