Interim PSU Coach

There's a new face of Penn State football -- for now. Interim coach Tom Bradly is no stranger to the program. During a news conference on the PSU campus in state college... after the sacking of head coach Joe Paterno in the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal.. he declined comment on the ongoing investigation. But the longtime Paterno assistant did seem to get emotional when talking about his former boss. He says Paterno's meant more to him than anybody but his father.

Governor Corbett
Governor Tom Corbett is speaking out on the Penn State sex abuse scandal. Mr. Corbett says he's disappointed in the actions of former Penn State President Graham Spanier and former coach Joe Paterno. Now, Corbett says, it's time to refocus the attention on the children. The governor also reminded the students that they have a right to rally and to express their opinions... but that nobody has a right to violence.

Trustees

Penn State's trustees will meet in public for the first time on Friday.... after forcing out the university's football coach and president amid an unfolding child sex abuse scandal. The session of the 32-member board follows two days of private meetings.

McQueary

Another decision has been made about a key name in the Penn State child sex scandal. Assistant Penn State coach Mike McQueary will not be on the sidelines of Saturday's game with Nebraska. Authorities say McQueary has been threatened. It was McQueary who... back in 2002... witnessed former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky sexually assaulting a 10 – year old boy in a football facility shower.

Lawyer Called

Embattled former Penn State coach Joe Paterno has contacted a criminal defense attorney in the child sex abuse case that has rocked the university. NBC news says Paterno's advisers have reached out to J. Sedgwick Sollers, who had previously represented President George H.W. Bush. Paterno is not charged with any crimes in connection with the case, but was fired late Wednesday for his role, and said that he regretted not doing more after learning about allegations against ex-defensive coordinator Jerry Sandunsky.

BU Policy

The damage caused by the Sandusky sex scandal at Penn State University... is having a wide reaching effect. It's caused Bloomsburg University to look at it's policy. In a university – wide e-mail.... BU president Dr. David Soltz reminded students and personnel that if they see sexual abuse... they to notify university police. That was apparently not something done in the PSU case with administrators trying to cover up Sandusky's alleged misdeeds.

PSU Fallout

Far and wide there is fall out from the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal at Penn State University. Appearing on a recent edition of the WHLM Morning Buzz... Bloomsburg University's Women's head basketball coach Bill Cleary called the entire situation unbelievable.

Chris Young

Now that the dust has settled in the Columbia County Commissioners race... Republican Chris Young says he's ready to get down to business. But, whatever the case... with a new commission coming on board... Young says how the board does it's business in the future comes down to relationships.

Although the commission has a couple of more meetings this year.... Young, Kovach and new comer Rich Ridgway will be sworn in during early January.

Hazleton Fire

A fire in a modular classroom earlier this week next to the high school has been ruled accidental. A state police fire marshal said a heating unit malfunctioned. No one was injured in the fire.... but the modular buildings are used to ease overcrowding in the Hazleton Area School District.

Shots Fired

State police aren't saying much about a case of “shots fired” at U.S. Trucks and Parts on the Can Do Expressway this week near Hazleton. Troopers taking one man into custody... with two others being sought in a case of alleged trespassing. If you have information about the incident... give state police at Hazleton a call.
