The falling snow and temperatures forced the postponement of Saturday's Catawissa Halloween Parade. Instead... the parade is scheduled for Sunday evening at the same time.It forms at 6 O'clock and steps off at 7:30.
All of Catawissa was in the dark Saturday evening. The power went out around 5:30.... plunging the entire boro into darkness. Power was restored at 7:55. An apparent downed power pole was the culprit.
More than an estimated 200,000Subscribers of Allentown – based PPL were without power Saturday night into Sunday as that massive winter storms weighed down trees... then falling against power lines. The giant utility services a 29 – county area of eastern Pennsylvania... and at one point 208,000 subscribers were in the dark. By 7 O'clock Sunday morning... the number was an estimated 193,000. Of that number 1,652 subscribers were in the dark in Columbia County... while just 100 households were without power in Montour County. The hardest hit area was Lehigh.... Northampton.... Lancaster and Dauphin counties.
