The Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble has opened their 34th Season with “Doubt, A Parable.” Showtime this afternoon is at 3:00 pm. You can also drop off non-perishable food donations to the Alvina Krause Theater on Center Street in Bloomsburg to benefit flood victims.
There will be a free will offering spaghetti dinner at EBC on Kachinka Hollow Road in Berwick. Serving is from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. 100% of all proceeds will benefit local flood victims through organizations like AGAPE and the Red Cross.
There is a Bear of Hope benefit dinner in memory of Mary Ann Petro happening at 1:30 pm at Ponduce Farms in Numidia. Entertainment will be Michael Carl. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
Bloomsburg Yoga invites you out to a donation based yoga event happening from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. All money donated will go directly to the Bloomsburg Red Cross. Six levels of classes will be offered starting at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 pm. They are located at 539 on East 7th Street in Bloomsburg.
The Moose Exchange in Downtown Bloomsburg presents Indian Classic Dance. There is a dance workshop from 10 am to noon, and cost is $50 per participant. The performance at 7:00 pm is $15 for adults, $10 for students. The Moose Exchange is located at 203 West Main Street in Bloomsburg.
The Penn State Extension is offering classes every Sunday in October from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at SMILE located at New Covenant Christian Center in Berwick. A dinner meal will be provided along with prizes for single mothers.
From the WHLM Future File, “Flood Our Community With Support,” with a special event being held this Tuesday at the Light Street Hotel from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. It’s a night of shopping, great food, face panting for children, and family photo shots. There will be a Chinese auction, and Covert Action will be providing live music.
The Turn the Page book drive continues to benefit all children and teens who have lost their books due to flooding in Columbia County. There are many drop off locations including the WHLM Stuidos located on Main Street in Bloomsburg. Books can also be dropped off at the Courthouse, AGAPE, and the Columbia Mall.
In High School Football Friday night, In a game heard on Newsradio 930 Southern Columbia fought valiantly and emerged the victor in a 29-28 game against Lewisburg. In Bulldogs action on 103.5 WHLM-FM Berwick shut out Selinsgrove 45-0. In other local action it was Bloomsburg 48 - Montgomery 15, Central Columbia 33 - Shikellamy 21, and Danville 45 - Milton 14.
