Celebrate the 92nd annual All Home Days this weekend in Ralpho Township Park in Elysburg. Events start today with a breakfast. Tomorrow there is a basket bingo, and Monday things wrap up with a chicken barbeque. That and a whole lot more is happening at the All Home Days celebration in Elysburg.
The Taste of Hamburg-er festival is happening today in Downtown Hamburg from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission is free and so is the entertainment. There will be a burger eating contest and more.
The Berwick Elks are hosting an NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Competition today at Salem Track and Field. The competition is free and open for your kids ages five to fifteen. Registration is at 1:30 and the competition starts at 2:00 pm. Your kids must have proof of date of birth and be accompanied by parent or guardian.
There is a community day going on at the Columbia Mall today from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Local non-profit organizations will set up and provide information about what they do, how they help, and how you can help. The Columbia Mall is located in Buckhorn.
The Danville Adoption Center of the Pennsylvania SPCA annual yard sale is today from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm at the shelter. The Danville SPCA is located at 2801 Bloom Road.
The 4th annual Pig Pickin’ Corn Roastin’ Good Time sponsored by the Columbia Montour Aging office is happening tomorrow from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. The event is rain or shine and there will be fun for your entire family. It’s going on at the Catawissa Boat Club on Route 42 just before the bridge.
The Bloomsburg Tennis Club is having a 75th anniversary picnic tomorrow from noon to 6:00 pm for all members. There will be free hot dogs and beverages. It’s rain or shine. Call Hervey Gillespie at 441-5432 for information.
The Sweet Valley Church of Christ will be having “Spiritual Renewal Meetings” this Sunday through Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. A nursery will be provided and a free will offering will be accepted each evening. The church is located on Main Road in Sweet Valley and is handicap accessible.

The Bloomsburg University football team opened the season Thursday night against Ashland of Ohio at Redman Stadium. Bloomsburg downing Ashland 27 to 20. A driving force behind the victory was Franklyn Quiteh. The Huskie's next game is September 10th at Clarion.
WHLM's Game of the Week
The 2011 High School football season kicked off Friday night with all area teams in action. In a game heard on Newsradio 930, Bloomsburg beat South Williamsport at Panther Stadium 42-22. In Bulldogs action on 103.5 WHLM-FM Berwick opened their season on the road at Crestwood, falling 19-6.
