Bloomsburg University at Stonehill College Friday, August 31
Running backs Franklyn Quiteh and Eddie Mateo picked up where they left off last season in leading the Huskies to a 44-28 win over Stonehill College in the first meeting ever of the two schools. Quiteh rushed for 218 yards and one touchdown, moving up to 4th place on the Huskies all time career rushing list. Mateo had 114 yards and two touchdowns. Last season Quiteh and Mateo both rushed for over 1000 yards, the only duo in the country to accomplish that feat. Redshirt freshman quarterback Tim Kelly, in his college football debut, completed 16 of 26 passes for 197 yards including a 46 yard touchdown pass to Matt Marchioni in the first quarter. Defensively the Huskies had five interceptions and four sacks. Former Husky basketball star Larry Webster, a senior playing football first the first time since his high school days, had both a sack and an interception.
